Installing Mono-2.6.4 in Ubuntu 1004.
Step A.
- In the directory /home/Name_of_Login create a directory for storing unpacking packagesm264 using Terminal
file:///home/farber1004/m264
- Downloading source files for Mono and MonoDevelop in the directory m263 from the site
http://ftp.novell.com/pub/mono/sources-stable/
using next sample:
Click on the package name mono-basic-2.6.2.tar.bz2
in the list of the "Mono 2.6.4 Sources".
Appears next window:
Click Open with and then click OK.
After downloading in the new window
select mono-basic-2.6.2 and click Extract
In new window open folder m264
/home/farber19/m264
and click Extract
After extracting in the folder m264
will appear the folder mono-basic-2.6.2
Step B.
- Starting Applications->Accessories->Terminal
enter sudo -i
enter password,
( enter apt-get install intltool)
- Starting System->Administration->Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)
Step C. Sample of installing the source pakage mono-2.6.4
from folder m264:
- 1. Enter in Terminal the command cd /home/farber1004//m264
Enter cd mono-2.6.4
Enter ./configure --prefix=/usr/local
If in the text there are error messages
install missing programms from SPM and return to step 1.
- 2.Enter the command make
If in the text there are error messages
install missing programms from SPM and return to step 1.
- 3. Enter the command make install
for ending installation.
Most packages are seting to work in the same order,
as in Step C.
Step D. Instaling MonoDevelop from sources in folder m264
according to the previous sample:

- Step 1: Install from SPM: bison, g++, gettext,libglib2.0-dev,
(xserver-xorg-dev);
Install mono-2.6.4
- Step 2: Install mono-basic-2.6.2
- Step 3: Install from SPM: libpng12-dev, libexif-dev, libgif-dev,
libtiff4-dev, libx11.dev, libxft.dev
Install libgdiplus-2.6.4
- Step 4: Install from SPM: libgtk2.0-dev, libnspr4-dev, libnss3-dev,
xulrunner.dev;
Install gluezilla-2.6
XSP/mod_mono
- Step 5: Install xsp-2.6.4;
- Step 6: Install from SPM: apache2-prefork-dev;
Install mod_mono-2.6.3;
Development Tools
- Step 7: Install from SPM: gtk-sharp2, gnome-sharp2;
Install mono-tools-2.6.2;
- Step 8: Install from SPM: (gtk-sharp2-gapi;)
Install gecko-sharp-2.0-0.13;
- Step 9: Install boo-0.9.2.3383;
- Step 10: Install from SPM:ikvm;
??ikvmbin-0.40.0.1
- Step 11: Install cocoa-sharp-0.9.5;
- Step 12: Install from SPM: nant; or
install nant-0.86-beta1:
cd /home/farber9/m263/nant-0.86-beta1
make install prefix=/usr
- Step 13: ??IPCE-r7.zip
- Step 14: Installmono-addins-0.4;

- Step 15:Install glade from SPM

- Step 16: Install from SPM:

- Step 20: Install from SPM: libgtksourceview-dev;

- Step 13: Install mono-debugger-2.6.3;
MonoDevelop
- Step 27: Install monodevelop-2.2.2
Repeat all steps with errors above!
Befor step 28 I executed next commands:
cd /home/farber9/m264
cd boo-0.9.1.3287/bin
cp *.* /usr/local/lib/boo
- Step 28: Install monodevelop-boo-2.2
or Install from SPM: monodevelop-boo;
- Step 29: Install monodevelop-database-2.2
- Step 30: Install monodevelop-debugger-gdb-2.2.1
- Step 30: Install monodevelop-debugger-mdb-2.2.1
- Step 31: Install monodevelop-java-2.2
- Step 32: Install monodevelop-vala-2.2
- Step 32: Install monodevelop-pythonvala-2.2
- Step 33 Starting /usr/local/bin/monodevelop or
from menu:
Applications->Programming->MonoDevelop
